About the BBQ Festival
Challenge Peter Russell Clarke at the 2009 Heathdale BBQ Festival
You are invited to taste the amazing food and join in the fun for the entire family at the Heathdale BBQ Festival. The festival has secured Peter Russell Clarke acclaimed chef and TV personality as celebrity judge for the BBQ cooking competition. Festival takes place on Sunday 22nd February 2009 at the Heathdale Glen Orden Wetlands between 12 midday and 7pm (more details below).
The BBQ is a celebrated Australian tradition. Competitors are invited to take the challenge and enter the cooking competition categories of:
whole hog,
vegetarian,
seafood,
chefs speciality.
The competition is open to all community across Victoria. You may enter as many categories as you like and starts at 12:00pm. First prize for the overall winner of the competition is prize money.
ENTERTAINMENT
As part of the festival enjoy the non-stop entertainment throughout the day with a variety of cultural dance and musical performances. The entertainment list will be announced soon. Watch this space!
From 4pm there will be an opportunity for young artists of Wyndham to showcase their talents as part of a Battle of the Talents competition. If you live in Wyndham and are interested in performing contact Heathdale House 8742 3125
OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
- Children and families will be able to enjoy low cost rides and free workshops such as face painting, Indigenous arts and crafts and woodwork.
Arts and Craft stall holders will entice you with their bargains and creative products.
Mascots, Sargent Pete and Thingle Twoodle will be roaming through the crowds.
Disability Access and Inclusion Working Group Arts and Craft activities for all abilities.
Local businesses will hold promotional and information stands such as: Quit, Gamblers HelpLine, Wyndham Local Community Safety Committee, Neighbourhood Watch, MatchWorks and Victoria University will be present all day. Heathdale BBQ Festival 2009
