    Heathdale Neighbourhood
    Introduction to Heathdale
The Heathdale neighbourhood is home to 6,837 people, covers some 2.6 square kilometres or 263 hectares and forms part of the suburb of Werribee. Approximately seventy percent of the areas population is aged 0-17 years and 25-49, which is indicative of a new residential development in the area over a number of decades

Bordered by Derrimut, Heaths, Shaws and Tarneit Roads, this neighbourhood is primarily residential with development commencing in the late 1970s and continuing until the late 1980s. The neighbourhood has few facilities and services with only one local primary school, a community centre and two small shopping areas.

Other facilities, including a private school, retirement village and private medical practitioners border the Neighbourhood along the key Derrimut and Heaths Roads.

There are many small vacant open spaces spread across the neighbourhood, some of which are privately owned and earmarked for residential development and others, which are owned by the local Council.

The Neighbourhood is also home to the Heathdale/Glen Orden Wetlands, which is centrally located within the area.

    Education within Heathdale
The Heathdale Neighbourhood is serviced by one local state primary school, Glen Orden Primary School, which is located in close proximity to the Heathdale Community Centre in Kookaburra Avenue. Glen Orden has approximately 280 students enrolled.

In addition, the Heathdale area is home to Heathdale Christian College, a rapidly expanding independent prep to year 12 school located near the corner of Derrimut and Heaths Road. This school services some 950 students, with 480 students in primary school and 470 completing secondary school. Of these students, 46 live within the local municipality.

There is no state secondary school located within the Heathdale neighbourhood. The majority of students from this community attend Galvin Park Secondary College, located on Shaws Road Werribee, some half a kilometre from the nearest Heathdale Neighbourhood border of Shaws and Tarneit Roads.
